Early Celtic Crosses were carved in wood and laid flat on the ground rather than standing on a stem sunk into the ground. The two circles intersecting the three arms and stem represent the sun and the moon. The sun is the home of the Sun Gods and the Moon would the home of the Triple Moon Goddess. Goddesses were thought to be daughters of Gods, but they all possessed the same amount of Divine Power. The square in the center is known as a Box Knot and location of all the collective powers of the universe that flow into the circle through the arms and stem.
