The Claidhmhor sword was the weapon of choice for over 350 years choice of weapons, until the Battle of Culloden when modern weapons and a professional English army proved superior to a sword. The Claidhmhor blade was usually of Spanish Toledo steel, 3′ long with a handle of about 12″, big enough for the use of two hands. The weight was approximately 6.50 pounds, very effective when hacking the enemy in close combat.
