Pixies predate Christian presence in England and eventually passed as Christianity with the explanation that they were the souls of children who had died unbaptised. Some 19th Century researchers connected them with Puck, a mythical creature described as a fairy. One British scholar stated that “Pixies were evidently a smaller…earlier race.” Pixies are said to be uncommonly beautiful… They do the unexpected… They bless the land…They are forest creatures whom wild creatures find alluring and unthreatening…They love humans, taking some for mates…They are nearly ageless…They are “great explorers” familiar with the caves of the ocean, the hidden sources of the streams and the recesses of the land. They are all the good things we want them to be. Handmade by a leading British foundry using a first-run ingot brass mix rich in copper for depth of colour and durability. Measurements: 5.75″ long, 2.50″ wide and 9.7 ounces in weight.
