This beautiful Mackintosh Art-Nouveau ring, with its simplicity and clean cut lines, was introduced by Charles Rennie Mackintosh during the Art-Nouveau (“New Art”) movement. Mackintosh, already a famous architect in Glasgow, became interested in the movement while visiting Paris and upon his return to Scotland, was awarded a Student Scholarship to study art at the prestigious Glasgow School of Art. He became an active member of a select group of artists and was instrumental in the initiation of the Art Nouveau movement in Great Britain. His style of design became popular with the more affluent consumers and elite jewelers until his death London in 1928.
