This is a set of four authentic pre-decimal British coins: half penny, penny, threepence and a sixpence. They were removed from circulation in 1967 when Britain changed to a decimal system of coinage.

Issued by the Royal Mint.

Withdrawn from circulation between 1966-1971 when Britain converted to a decimal system of currency.

Presented on a card with protective plastic cover.



This small carded set of genuine British pre-decimal coins includes:

Halfpenny First issued in 1672 and withdrawn in 1967 when Britain converted to the decimal system.

Penny (1797-1967) also known as a pence.

Brass Threepence (1937-1967)  Pronounce “thrupence” or “thrupnee bit”

Sixpence (1551-1967) Also known as a “tanner”
