It features authentic coins and bank notes of the 1950s and 1960s that were swept away in February 1971 when Great Britain adopted a decimal system of coinage. It includes a complete set of genuine pre-decimal coins of the time plus the three most commonly used bank notes, the scarce 10 shilling note, a one pound note, and a rare five pound note. This Limited Edition collection of 1000 is beautifully illustrated by a British in-house design team, presented in a luxurious mahogany wood frame measuring approximately 20″ X 15″ and is issued with a numbered Limited Edition Certificate Of Authenticity. Each coin, and bank note must be of a specific date so you can imagine how many coins and bank notes had to be purchased to put each piece of this unique collection together. The Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Collection consists of 9 pre-decimal coins (Farthing, Half-penny, Penny, Brass Three-pence, Sixpence, Shilling, Florin, Half-Crown, Crown, plus Ten Shilling, One Pound and Five Pound notes).  All are dated 1953.

Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne at the age of 25 when her father, King George VI passed away on February 6, 1952. Her coronation took place in Westminster Abbey on June 2, 1953. During WWII, she served as a volunteer ambulance driver in London during the blitz. She has now surpassed Queen Victoria as the longest reigning sovereign in the history of Great Britain.
