Featured in a special program on BBC and Border T.V. when introduced by Classic Flies of langholm, Scotland. Each is of gallery quality as the entire series was produced to preserve classic salmon flies of the Victorian era before it became illegal to continue tying them…the feathers are all from birds now on either the endangered species list, or already extinct. These master fly-tiers wanted to make sure that future generations could appreciate the beauty of the past. Each hook measures 2.00″ in length and the antiqued custom made wooden frame (made in Edinburough) measures 7.50″ by 7.50.”
SALMON FLY COLLECTION: Green Highlander
Featured in a special program on BBC and Border T.V. when first introduced by Classic Flies of Langholm, Scotland. All feathers are “married” before being tied and the hooks are hand cut and shaped by master fly tiers who used Victorian manuals to ensure authenticity in these reproductions (although to a larger scale as these peices were created for art galleries and fly tying museums.) The purpose of producing this series was to ensure that future generations will be able to appreciate the beauty of the past before it became illegal to use the authentic materials. Once our limited inventory is depleted, they will no longer be available on the market. The hook is 2.00″ in ength and the frame mesures 7.50″by 7.50.” The back is coverded by green felt.
