Salmon Fly: Thunder & Lightning

Salmon Fly: Thunder & Lightning

$25.95

These framed salmon flies are reproductions of the old traditional patterns handed down through the ages by the fishermen & gillies of the mighty Scottish salmon rivers. They were produced in The Classic Fly workshop which looks out onto one of the most famous salmon and sea-trout rivers, the Border Esk, in Langholm. Each fly is a masterpiece of the fly-tyers art which is sadly declining yearly as the flies are replaced by the simpler, more modern patterns. As a result they may no longer be used for the purpose for which they were intended (that of catching fish) but are becoming increasingly popular as collectors items not only by salmon fly fishermen, but also by people with no knowledge of the art.
