Luckenbooth jewelry was first introduced by jewelers on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh during the 17th century. The name comes from the “locked booths” that replaced the open stalls where gold and silversmiths had been making and selling their jewelry. It is one of the most romantic Scottish symbols of love, affection and friendship; a token often given by the groom-to-be to his bride-to-be and worn on the wedding day. The two hearts symbolize between two lovers and the crown symbolizes the loyalty and devotion each pledges to the other.
